When Grace is in the Room

By

Old habits die hard
when they are tied to your worth.
Always striving to belong,
to prove you deserve
a seat at the table.

What would it look like to relax,
to recognize the value in yourself
that is so obvious to others already?

Can you let go of control,
of productivity,
of networking
and just enjoy the moment?

Lean in.
Take delight.
Notice what is going on around you.

Enjoy the wonder of the world we are creating.
Celebrate and share in the success of others—
for their success is your success.

We inhabit the moment.
We embrace the process.

What if it’s less about what I am producing
and more about who I am becoming?

I picture Jesus relaxed,
leaned back,
ankle crossed over knee.
Fully engaged,
and fully at ease.

And I understand—

success is not what I build in the room,

but whether I look
a little more like Him
when I leave it.
